Food and drinks logistics firm NFT has completed its £16m transformation of its flagship Daventry, Northants hub.
The final phase - the addition of a 120,000ft2 chill store to the site - was concluded last week, ending a development strategy that started in November 2008.
The completed facility now takes NFT's Daventry capacity to 20,000 pallets in 200,000ft2. On average, the site has been handling 20 million products a week.
Since opening, the facility has attracted customers including Pro-Pak Foods and Sweet Port. One of the hub's attractions is the specialist deep chill [at -1°C] facility, which is in a separate chamber at the site.
NFT sales and marketing director Dale Fiddy says: "It's great to have the extension completed on schedule and this development heralds a good time for NFT, in terms of our business development activity. The additional capacity that this investment affords our operational capability makes us well placed to fulfil all customer requirements, both new and existing."
