Nightfreight's home delivery arm rolls out nationally

Pacemaker, the dedicated two-man home delivery arm of Nightfreight, has been rolled out nationally.

Previously focusing on London and the South-East, Pacemaker will cover the whole of the UK, with new depots in:

Mansfield, Notts
Morecambe, Lancs
Motherwell, Lanarkshire
Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire

Department store House of Fraser is one of the first customers to take advantage of the national service for delivery of its furniture goods, with Pacemaker employees managing the storage, movement and fitment of products.

Veeder-Root launches updated digital tacho

Stoneridge - better known in the UK as Veeder-Root - has launched an updated version of its SE5000 digital tachograph that is easier and quicker for drivers and managers to use.The SE5000 allows data to be downloaded 10 times as fast as previous versions and can interface with a tracking unit to allow the remote download of driving data. Drivers can also start driving or their daily checks as soon as they put their card in the machine.

Home Delivery Network goes head-to-head with Royal Mail

Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL) has launched a small-package delivery service to go head-to-head with Royal Mail.From January 2010, HDNL will offer retailers a distribution service for parcels up to 2kg called HDN Lite. The service was previously only available to existing clients, but the Royal Mail strikes have prompted the parcel carrier to roll out HDN Lite to all customers.
