Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has beaten rivals to become House of Fraser’s multi-channel fulfillment partner, following a six-way competitive tender.
The deal will see the logistics giant operating the retailer’s 510,000ft² e-fulfilment site in Milton Keynes, including the receipt of goods from House of Fraser’s national distribution centre, inter-store and supplier concession transfers from a network of 62 shops, and the picking and packing of goods.
ND will also manage the retailer’s dispatch and returns service, as well as handling more than 140,000 SKUs and several million items ordered per year. In addition, the logistics firm will be responsible for collating, picking and packing of orders for House of Fraser’s wedding gift list service.
Around 200 staff will be employed on the core workforce of the round-the-clock operation.
In addition to a proven track record in multi-channel fulfilment operations, ND says other key factors in House of Fraser’s decision to select it included proposals to “improve both the processes and culture within the warehouse in line with House of Fraser’s aspirations for growth”, as well as the “speed and proactivity” with which it approached the tender process.
Mark Holland, House of Fraser supply chain director, says: “Norbert came through a very exacting process and are here on merit."
