Nostrop Storage chooses Volvo FH Aero as its first brand new truck

Nostrop Storage has added a new Volvo FH Aero 500 6x2 tractor unit to its general haulage fleet. Supplied by Jason Robinson, area sales manager, Crossroads Truck and Bus, this is the company’s first brand new truck. Expected to cover around 120,000km annually, the vehicle will be put to work five days a week from the company’s Leeds headquarters. 

Josh Smith, Nostrop Storage’s owner said: “Investing in our first new Volvo marks a significant milestone for the business that reflects our commitment to enhancing our operational efficiency, sustainability and brand image.

“The decision to introduce the FH Aero into our fleet in particular was driven by a desire to bring a very reliable vehicle onboard, but also a model that can deliver the very best fuel economy on the market. Given our existing Volvos have performed admirably, we’ve no doubts this new FH Aero will exceed on both those fronts.” 

Nostrop Storage’s FH Aero features Alcoa Dura Bright alloy wheels and Globetrotter XL cab with leather upholstery, microwave and additional cab storage. The Aero’s cab design improves aerodynamic efficiency to offer emissions reductions of up to 5%. The vehicle also uses Volvo’s Camera Monitoring System rather than traditional mirrors. 

The FH Aero is equipped with a 500hp engine with peak torque of 2,800Nm. The vehicle benefits from a 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox with I-See predictive cruise control. Nostrop Storage opted for a Volvo gold contract for repair and maintenance.
