Welsh transport firm Owens Road Services has opened an authorised testing facility (ATF) at its Carmarthenshire depot in south Wales.

The firm decided to open the ATF when Vosa revealed it was to close its test station in Ammanford on 15 March.

The ATF, which is located at its Riverside depot in Llangennech, opened on Monday (4 March). It is situated less than one mile off junction 48 of the M4.

ATF manager Ian Jarman said: “This is a significant investment by the company and we aim to provide a high class service here which hopefully will maintain and enhance the reputation Owens has within the industry sector.”

The facility will initially be open from 8am to 4pm for three days a week until the end of March. It will be open for five days a week from 2 April.
