Palletline has recruited Downton, Wiltshire-based Doccombe Global Logistics into its pallet network.

The former UPN member will cover the SP1 to SP6, SP9, BH15 to BH21, BH24 and BH31 postcode areas (Salisbury into Hampshire and east Dorset) after Palletline member Lambert Brothers ceded some of its former patch.

John Underhill, Doccombe MD, said: “We are delighted to be joining Palletline and look forward to working with the company and its membership. There is a natural synergy between us, which recognises that the customer comes first, and a mutually beneficial business association is a cornerstone of sustainable success.”

Iain Brown, operations director of Palletline, said: “The addition of Doccombe supports our plans for further growth and cements our presence in the South West. We are very much looking forward to working with a business that shares our ethos and commitment to service excellence.”

Palletline has also confirmed that MD Kevin Buchanan is currently on leave from the business that he has led since 2007. In a statement the network said: “Kevin Buchanan, managing director of Palletline Plc is currently on compassionate leave until further notice. The senior management team will assume responsibility for directing the business in his absence. There will be no changes to network operations during this time. No further details will be released at this time.”

Buchanan originally joined Palletline as general manager of commercial development at the network in January 2007, before succeeding Glyn Jones later that year as MD.
