Palletline has opened a hub in Scotland after strong volume growth in the country.

During the past two years the pallet network has added five new member companies in Scotland including RT McEwan in Arbroath and ARR Craib Transport in Aberdeen, which has helped increase volumes.

The company says opening a fourth hub in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, to complement Birmingham, London and Manchester will bring both operational and environmental benefits.

Kevin Buchanan, MD of Palletline, says: “Recent growth in demand has seen volumes reach a critical mass where it simply makes sense to consolidate freight in Scotland rather than transport across additional miles to our other hubs.”

“The move is expected to be particularly valuable for member companies serving the more distant highlands and islands locations, improving competitiveness, as well as enhancing the Palletline service for all Scottish customers.”
