Parcelforce has scooped a distribution contract, previously held by DHL Express UK, with electrical products supplier RS Components.

The Royal Mail Group subsidiary will begin its two-year contract as UK domestic carrier for RS Components on 19 July.

Anne Bruggink, general manager supply chain at RS, says: "Parcelforce is an excellent choice of partner for our UK domestic business. Both companies have a long history of unrivalled high-quality service levels and we will continue to deliver that same level of service to our customers. We will also work with Parcelforce to further improve and explore new delivery opportunities."

The contract was previously managed by Day Definite Domestic, a division of DHL Express, which was sold to Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL) in January.

The international distribution contract held by DHL Express for RS Components remains unaffected.
