Neil Park (pictured) has been appointed regional MD for Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North and Scotland. Park, who has been regional aftersales director since 2013, replaces Martin Merrick who was appointed to the global role of senior vice president - retail development with Volvo Trucks in June.

In 1988 Park began his road transport industry career as an apprentice technician at James Wilson Transport in Muirkirk, East Ayrshire. He then spent several years with John Maitland and Sons of Trabboch, also in East Ayrshire.

Park joined Volvo Trucks in 1993 as a technician and became retail development manager for Volvo Truck and Bus Scotland in 2002. After Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North and Scotland was created in 2009 he joined the senior management team.

Park has led the dealership’s workshop and customer service teams and worked as service reception engineer, workshop controller and service manager at its dealer points in Edinburgh, Barrhead and Cardonald.
