Following a successful year for their award-winning Low Bridge Detection System, Parksafe Group has combined all of its progressive safety systems into a single demonstrator vehicle on show at RTX.
The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) truck utilises Parksafe’s range of systems, including artificial intelligence pedestrian dection cameras and audible left turn alarm with a Moving Off Information System, Blind Spot Information System and Camera Monitoring System to meet the requirements for 12-tonne vehicles entering London.
Available as a kit with side and front pedestrian detection, 1080p in-cab screen and left-turn alarm, the installation will allow HGVs to enter the DVS zone after the 28 October 2024 deadline.
Also on display is their Low Bridge Warning Device, which uses GPS tracking to monitor the position of the vehicle and cross-reference it with a database of all the bridges in the UK and Ireland.
Each of the entry and exit points in all directions of travel to a low bridge have been recorded and as the system connects to a DIN socket it can easily be retrofitted into the cab to prove a visual and audible warning alert when approaching a low bridge. In addition, there is a two-way communication button which drivers can use to alert Parksafe that their approach to a low bridge was not recognised and report the result to a remote monitoring point.
