Somerset-based Peter Green Chilled Distribution has left the Absolute Temperature Network, just three months after the network was formed.

Peter Green business development manager James Howes tells Motor Transport that the company has left the UK-wide network and will handle nationwide distribution itself.

Howes adds that business is strong and its membership of the network, which was launched on 25 January, had been successful - reiterating comments he made to sister title Commercial Motor in March that membership had "proved incredibly beneficial for us".

The Absolute Temperature Network was founded by Newcastle's David Price Food Services after it parted company with south-west chilled distribution specialists Langdon Group. Members include:

  • Wild Water Logistics, Cardiff
  • Solstor, Kent
  • Montgomery Refrigerated, Co Antrim

David Price Food Services chairman David Price says the company has opened a depot near Bristol following Peter Green's departure from the network, and is handling 80 pallets a day to continue a South-West service.
