Peugeot plans to use this April's CV Operator Show to promote its range of vans.

It started the year with a 60% increase in registrations in January compared to the same month last year. Both the Bipper and Expert models did well, and Peugeot intends to have one of each on stand 5760, along with a Partner van.

A spokesman says: "We were very pleased with how well we did in January and want to do everything to continue this through the year. That's one reason why the CV Operator Show will be important for us."

The top selling Peugeot van is the Bipper - 635 were sold in January, more than half Peugeot's total van sales of 1,137.

The company puts its success down to some customers downsizing to "vehicles which are more fuel-efficient and closer to their actual load carrying needs".

Peugot sold 157 Expert vans in January, up 20.8% on the year before.
