Heavy haulage firm Plant Speed has spent more than £1m on a Scheuerle multi-axle trailer and Mercedes-Benz Actros Titan tractor to haul oversized loads weighing up to 250-tonne GVW.
The Bristol-based operator has invested in a £800,000 trailer that can be coupled with up to 10-axle lines, and £220,000 on an 8x4 Actros 4165S Titan powered by the 16-litre V8 engine producing 650hp and 3,300Nm torque, topped off with the MegaSpace cab.
The driveline is connected to the Mercedes PowerShift automated transmission, which works in conjunction with Voith’s new Turbo Clutch.
