Scottish haulage giant Pollock (Scotrans) is expanding down south, after acquiring Lancashire haulier Gilbraith (TS) for a seven figure sum.
In a statement, Pollock said: “We are delighted to acquire Gilbraith, a well respected family owned transport company. It is a strategic acquisition which allows Pollock to have two transport hubs: one in Bathgate and the other in Blackburn.”
Gilbraith holds an O-licence for 30 vehicles and 35 trailers and is, like Pollock, a Palletways member. It specialises in full-load, groupage and warehousing services from its Bolton Road Freight Terminal, which is also home to a rail and road facility with 1km of private sidings connected to the main rail network.
Funding for the deal is being provided by The Royal Bank of Scotland.
