Welwyn Garden City-based PW Gates has left The Pallet Network (TPN) after seven years to join Pallet-Track.
The haulier says the decision was fuelled by Pallet-Track offering a more consolidated postcode range - AL, EN and North London - which is where 80% of its business is based. Under TPN, the haulier had to also cover North West London so the firm says the switch has “cut out a lot of empty miles” travelling back and forth.
It also claims there is more scope for volume growth.
“We are already getting to grow with Pallet-Track. We are putting in over 120 pallets a night and coming back with up to 100,” says Chris Lynch, business development director at PW Gates.
The firm which runs a fleet of 21 HGVs says it is taking delivery of new Pallet-Track liveried curtains for its vehicles.
Pallet-Track MD, Nigel Parkes tells MT the network has won four members over the last 12 months, taking membership to 70.
