CM Aftermarket editor Roger Brown speaks to Peter Rushmer, Business development manager, A Culpin & Son, who reveals he drives a Volvo S60 and enjoys going on holiday to Frejus in the south of France.

RB: What is your favourite holiday destination?
PR: Frejus in the south of France; I spent a week there in August with my family and it was beautiful and relaxing.

RB: What car do you drive?
PR: A Volvo S60.

RB: What are your hobbies?
PR: Playing football and poker. I have a makeshift gym in the garage and it’s not unusual for me to be there at 6am in the dark and cold. I also enjoy a good read.

RB: What is your favourite TV programme?
PR: Match of the Day or The Apprentice.

RB: What celebrity would you most like to meet?
PR: Sir Alex Ferguson - he is a real hero, I find his career and success fascinating.

RB: How did you get into the industry?
PR: I loved anything fast, from a young age, and started work at a body repair company. Since moving into trucks with Volvo, I haven’t looked back.

RB: How would you encourage more young people into the industry?
PR: Do more to engage the younger generation through social media, and develop and promote role models for young people to aspire to.

RB: What do you expect to see over the next 12 months in your sector?
PR: That despite the low exchange rate, the market should remain stable.

RB: How is A Culpin & Son different from the competition?
PR: The workshop has received huge investment and the business has a fantastic ethos towards customer satisfaction, demonstrated by a loyal and successful customer base. You can rely on each of the team to provide a personalised service and they are very experienced.
