Newcastle-BASED haulier Ramage Transport is to offer vehicle testing, as well as repair and maintenance services, at its recently upgraded workshops.

The company was granted Designated Premises (DP) status by VOSA in March for its facility on the New York Industrial Park in Newcastle, and initially only intended using the facility to test its own fleet.

However, it says it has already had interest from other commercial vehicle operators wanting to book MoT tests.

Robin Ramage, operations director at Ramage Transport, says: "Our newly built and furbished workshops were originally specified to VOSA test centre standards, so when we were given the opportunity to apply for DP status, our facility was ready for operation."
