Newcastle-based Ramage Transport has been caught in the crossfire of Ramage Distribution’s collapse. The general haulage operator has been plagued with calls from customers and drivers since the middle of last week. Director Robin Ramage Snr tells MT:

"We’ve had a high volume of enquiries since last Wednesday with clients and drivers asking us if we’ve gone under. I’m happy to report that we haven’t - and that we have absolutely no connection with Ramage Distribution. We’ve put a message on our homepage to reinforce the point.

"In fact, we recently invested in seven Daf XF105s (all with AS-tronic automated gearboxes), supplied by North West Trucks." Ramage Transport’s fleet is coloured silver and numbers approximately 80 trucks and 90 trailers.
