Lincoln-based haulier Rase Distribution says volumes have doubled since it switched to Palletways following a three-year stint at The Pallet Network (TPN).
Since joining Palletways on 24 May, the firm says daily throughput has averaged 120 pallets, compared with 60 pallets per day with TPN. Rase adds that the increase can partly be attributed to covering a wider area in Lincolnshire for Pallet-ways, including Mablethorpe and Skegness, than it previously was responsible for at TPN.
The postcodes were previously covered by EH Lee, which went into administration on 29 January. Fellow Lincolnshire firm John Reid Trucking picked up the other former EH Lee postcodes.
Geoff Hill, MD of Rase Distribution, tells MT: "We have always felt Palletways had a highly reputable name, but the most appealing factor was the network's strong European service. This will enable us to offer our customers cost-effective overnight and express palletised freight services to mainland Europe for the first time ever."
Rase Distribution, a 2010 finalist in the MT Awards for Best Use of Technology, has purchased two new Volvo trucks and hired three more HGV drivers to accommodate the volume increase.
Meanwhile, Boston, Lincs-based George H Kime & Co has left UK Pallets to take Rase Distribution's place in TPN.
