Redhead and Palletforce team up for Ulster rally

Redhead International had an unusual load for its daily service from Scotland to Ireland in the shape of Rally Team Scotland's Ford Fiesta R2 rally car which took part in the Ulster rally in Northern Ireland last weekend.

Rally Team Scotland's main sponsor is Palletforce, and it has introduced a quarter pallet service from Northern Ireland to the Republic in conjunction with Redhead and the pair took the chance to promote the service.

The Ulster Rally was the fifth round of the British Rally Championship and Rally Team Scotland's driver John MacCrone finished second in the Fiesta Sport Trophy category.

RHA slams low number of cabotage fines

The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has slammed the number of fines issued by VOSA for illegal cabotage as "tiny" after VOSA told CM that only 230 drivers had been discovered breaking the 'three jobs in seven days' rule, which came into force on 14 May. Ramage to offer VOSA-approved testing at new CV workshops

Newcastle-BASED haulier Ramage Transport is to offer vehicle testing, as well as repair and maintenance services, at its recently upgraded workshops. The company was granted Designated Premises (DP) status by VOSA in March for its facility on the New York Industrial Park in Newcastle, and initially only intended using the facility to test its own fleet. However, it says it has already had interest from other commercial vehicle operators wanting to book MoT tests.
