Ree Automotive has unveiled its P7-C, a modular electric truck chassis serving the 7.5-tonne segment.

The new P7-C is based on the Ree’s P7 platform which includes the P7-C chassis cab, P7-B box van, and P7-S “stripped” chassis. The P7-C has a 3175kg payload capacity to allow for a variety of bodies at a 7.25-tonne GVW.

The electric platform is said to have a range of 150 miles and uses the REEcorner all-by-wire system that sees an electric motor placed at each wheel to give a combined power output of 536hp and 545Nm of torque. As well as all-wheel-drive, the driveline gets all-wheel steer, adaptive regenerative breaking, creep control, hill start assist, and torque vectoring as standard, while the vehicle itself will receive over-the-air updates. Despite the range claim, Ree has yet to say what size battery the vehicle will be fitted with.

On the inside, there’s a driver-centric design which includes a 13-inch centre screen, but other features are still to be confirmed.

“Part of what our customers love about our highly modular P7 platform lineup is the fact that they can make the most out of it,” said Tali Miller, chief business officer of Ree.

“Be it P7-B, the ultra-low floor electric box truck, or P7-S for the walk-in-van market, now the new cab design of the P7-C chassis cab that we developed in response to market feedback.”

Ree Automotive is an Isreali-based electric commercial vehicle manufacturer with their main manufacturing centre based in Coventry with a new engineering centre at MIRA Technology Park.
