Renault Magnum keeps it cool

A 4x2 Renault Magnum 460.18 has been delivered to Halifax-based cold-store and cold-room flooring specialist GE Scothorne & Sons (Contracts).

The truck has been modified with a large toolbox at the front and lorry-loader crane at the rear to accommodate the plant and tools needed to lay and repair specialist concrete floors in temperatures down to -30°C.

Spray suppression system saves fuel in wet and dry

Tests of Spraydown's spray suppression system undertaken at Millbrook have yielded fuel savings of 3.65% at a steady 40mph and 3.8% at 52mph. Spraydown's flap design, drawing on turbine engineering, is equally effective in the dry and the wet, both air and water following the same suppressed flow, thus reducing drag.
