Renault Trucks has introduced a longer-range battery to its electric D models, upping the maximum claimed operating distance to a potential 400km on a single charge.
The 16- and 26-tonne D Z.E. and D Wide Z.E. trucks are now available with a new 66kWh battery pack, upping the models’ availability to five battery configurations with total electric power outputs of between 200kWh to 400kWh.
Ranges start at 120km for models with the existing 200kWh pack, while those fitted with the new 400 kWh pack – made up of six of the new 66kWh batteries – can allegedly exceed 400km on a full charge.
The firm has also launched a new 3.5-tonne version of its Master Z.E. electric van, which was previously available only as a 3.1-tonner. The move has increased the payload to 1-tonne, while the range is 120km and a full charge takes six hours.
It’s available in three different lengths – L1, L2 and L3 – two heights – H1 or H2 – and as a van, platform cab and chassis cab versions are on the way.
Prices are due to be confirmed later this month.
