An employee at East Midlands Renault Trucks dealer RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) has qualified as a master technician.

Daniel Willis (right) from Nottinghamshire, undertook an 18-month programme at the Renault Trucks training centre at Stephenson College, Leicestershire. It included six written and practical modules.

The classes have only eight students due to the level of difficulty and intensity of training. Willis began at RHCV in 2008 and was awarded Apprentice of the Year at Renault Trucks Achievers for two successive years.

He was quickly promoted to technician and then shift supervisor, where he is now a mentor.

RHCV Nottingham aftermarket manager Stephen Astill (left), who nominated Willis for the master technician programme, said: “Success stories like his show what can be achieved with hard work and dedication, and Willis is the ideal role model to train and mentor RHCV’s apprentices.”
