Parts supplier Roadlink International has invested £700,000 in a commercial vehicle brakecaliper remanufacturing centre at its head office in the West Midlands.

The operation in Willenhall will enable Roadlink to remanufacture more calipers, meeting increased demand and increasing product availability. Roadlink expects to create more jobs over the next three-to-five years as a result.

It offers a range of new and remanufactured brake parts, including brake shoes, a large range of pads, discs and drums as well as calipers. The site was opened by SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes earlier this month.

Keith Sedgley, Roadlink joint MD, said despite being labour-intensive the process required in remanufacturing brake calipers can offer considerable savings compared to manufacturing a brand new caliper.

He added: “With the demand for remanufactured braking products increasing year on year, we have been alarmed at the number of low-quality parts entering the trade. Roadlink’s investment underlines our position as a quality supplier and demonstrates what customers can expect in relation to product quality, technical support and customer service.”
