Manchester distribution firm Roberts Transport Services is restructuring and rebranding as its owners look to bring in their son to take the business forward and "lay the foundations for the future".
The current owners, Steve and Janet Roberts, set the firm up in 1976, but are now looking to take more of a back-seat role as they hand over some of the operational control to son Luke.
As a result, Roberts Transport Services is being placed in voluntary liquidation and a new firm, Roberts Transport Solutions, created in its place, with Luke Roberts taking a majority shareholding.
The 10-truck operator is also adding new vehicles to its fleet and will unveil a new logo in the coming weeks.
Steve Roberts adds: "This will bring us into line with 2010, but, otherwise, it's business as usual. It's all about making people aware of the niche market we operate in. We are incredibly service-focused. Clients want and need a level of service from us and we are able to provide that."
Roberts Transport operates from a 32,000ft² warehouse site in Hyde, Greater Manchester and specialises in offering storage and transport services to overseas firms to handle their UK inventory.
Although the Euro exchange rate has had an effect on this business, Roberts says he is hoping for a new contract win in the coming weeks that will help "get the business back on track".
