West Midlands-based RS Recovery has refitted its workshop with a range of Totalkare equipment. The multi-bay workshop received a refresh to ensure everything is up to date with the latest safety equipment and compliance requirements. New Totalkare equipment installed includes two vehicle inspection pits with adjoining tunnel, in-ground brake testers and shaker plates, a 10m, 35,000kg Y-MECH lift, a set of eight T8DC mobile column lifts, headlamp tester, and oil hose reel dispensers.
Leonard Perry, recovery manager at RS Recovery, said: “We are happy to be adding Totalkare’s equipment to our workshop. This investment will greatly enhance our ability to serve our clients, ensuring that we provide the best service in the roadside assistance and vehicle recovery industry.”
The inspection pits facilitate access under vehicles for complex repair tasks. Totalkare’s pits are prefabricated to suit requirements from 6m upwards. External pit walls are fully braced and made of 5mm thick welded recessed steel pressing, with a 6mm thick pressed durbar floor which is sloped slightly towards a central sump for effective drainage.
The Y-MECH Lift is available in lengths from 6 to 13m with lifting capacities from 25,000 to 35,000kg. In RS Recovery’s workshop, the lift is recess-mounted to minimise trip hazards when this piece of equipment is not in use. The Y-MECH has mechanical safety latches as well as rollover/roll back protection.
James Atkins, area sales manager for Totalkare added: “We are pleased to be RS Recovery’s trusted choice for workshop equipment solutions. Our equipment is designed to enhance safety and productivity in workshops, and we’re confident that it will greatly benefit RS Recovery’s operations.”
Totalkare’s T8DC mobile column lifts are rated up to 7,500kg per column. With eight columns together, the T8DC system can lift RS Recovery’s heaviest vehicles. It has adjustable forks to suit different wheel sizes and can be charged using a 230V wall socket.
The TK70 in-ground brake tester is DVSA approved. The tester is supported with additional equipment including a PC, printer, monitor, cabinet, and tablet device. This means tests can be completed from the driver’s seat.
