Known for its suction excavators, RSP-UK has gone one step further and added a hardstanding breaker to its range to meet the demands for a customer involved in the gas industry.
The Breaker Boom can break ground and use the RSP Suction Excavator to collect the waste, which provides a reduced onsite footprint for the operator as it is doing two jobs with one vehicle, explained sales engineer Stuart Stockwell.
In addition, the breaker is operated by remote control, so it can eliminate the potential for ‘vibration white finger’, a long-term medical condition associated with people that regularly use handheld breaker tools, he added.
Breaker Boom is fitted to a Mercedes Arocs 5 3351 6x4 chassis cab, which is also fitted with a hydrostatic drive that allows the operator to move the vehicle at speeds up to 3km an hour via remote control between sections of ground that need to be broken.
Breaker Boom is still at the concept stage and is out on trials.
