Mercedes-Benz dealer Rygor has opened Asda’s first dedicated managed workshop at a site in Heston, west London.

The three-bay facility will service 50 home shopping vehicles and be staffed by three Mercedes-Benz technicians. It has the capacity to maintain at least 200 vans and Rygor is able to draft in factory-trained service employees from its other branches if required.

Asda will take delivery of 550 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 313 CDI chassis cabs this year. The majority will come from Yorkshire-based Mercedes dealer Northside Truck and Van and the remainder from Rygor.

Asda’s delivery fleet has increased by 25% over the past three years to more than 2,000 vehicles, and the supermarket’s Sprinters are fitted with multi-compartment, insulated box bodies by Paneltex, as well as GAH refrigeration units.
