Mercedes-Benz dealer group Rygor has taken on 16 apprentices as part of its CV technician programme.
The group of 16-19-year-olds will undergo a three-year Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship Programme, the Mercedes-Benz Parts Apprenticeship and the Mercedes-Benz Customer Service Expert Apprenticeship.
Rygor managing director Tim Stacey said: “Rygor’s mission is to be a place where our team is proud to work and customers want to come back. Many of our team members joined us as apprentices and have developed into leadership roles, such as our Westbury service manager, who’s been with Rygor for 36 years, and Reading’s technician, Mark Briggs, who started as an apprentice nearly 15 years ago.”
James Bradley, apprentice technician at Rygor Kidderminster, said: “I had experience of engineering, so becoming a CV technician seemed like the perfect choice.”
David Greenwood, parts apprentice at Rygor Swindon, said: “I started training in engineering at UTC in 2014 and I was advised of the benefits of apprenticeships. It’s great to be learning in the workplace.”
