North East Truck & Van has appointed John McDonald as MD with his father Sandy McDonald stepping down from the role after 30 years of service.
John joined the company in 2014 following a career in accountancy and over the previous seven years has fulfilled various roles in the including financial analyst and finance director.
“It is with immense pride that I will be taking over this position from my father,” John McDonald commented.
“My main aim is to continue to build upon our successes, ensuring the company continues to evolve to meet the demands of our loyal and valued customers. There are a lot of factors going to affect our industry in the coming years, be it alternative fuels, labour shortages or changes in the wider economic climate and it is our role to be here and ready to support our customers through those changes.
Despite handing over the reins, Sandy McDonald will remain as chairman of North East Truck & Van.
