James Colbourne has been appointed regional sales director, Scotland at Scania (GB), taking over from retired long-standing sales director for the region Brian Shute.

Colbourne (above), who will be based at Scania Bellshill, has joined from Mercedes-Benz UK’s commercial vehicles operation and comes with more than 10 years’ experience. At Mercedes, Colbourne held a variety of sales and aftersales positions, most recently as head of strategic accounts. He previously worked for SsangYong, Vauxhall Leasing and MG-Rover in roles covering sales, business management and network development.

Sandy Millar, regional executive director, Scotland at Scania (GB) said: “James brings to Scania a wealth of experience that I am sure will benefit our organisation tremendously. He takes up the reins from Brian Shute who, together with our regional sales force, has built a solid foundation, which, over the years, has delivered consistently high sales performances for Scania north of the border.”
