Tip-ex 2018 will see the UK’s first Scania L-series on show - the manufacturer's low-entry cab series designed for urban operations ranging from local distribution to waste and construction.

Announced in December 2017, the low-entry cab can specified with automatic kneeling to give a single 440mm entry step on both sides. The cab is 2,000mm long and has a cab floor height approximately 800mm from the ground (depending on tyre choice) . It is available in three roof heights; low, normal and high.

The L-series is powered by Scania’s updated 9-litre engine, which is available in three different power steps for diesel.  During 2018, Scania will also add its OC09 dedicated gas-fuelled engine in two power outputs (and for both CNG and LNG) to the engine range for the L-series – and all engines can be combined with Scania’s Opticruise automated transmission or with an Allison automatic gearbox.

Scania is set for a major presence both inside and outside the Harrogate Convention Centre at Tip-ex and Tank-ex 2018 – which takes place between 31 May and 2 June.

P- and G-series models from its XT range can be found on stand M7 – M9 while the L-series will be on show in the outside exhibition area.

The XT range was launched back in September 2017 and has been designed for vehicles operating in the most arduous conditions.

All XT models come with an all-new heavy duty bumper which extends 150 millimetres from the front of the cab with an improved approach angle, and reinforced ribbed rear view mirrors.
