Scania has become the first heavy CV manufacturer in the UK to be presented with a Learning and Skills Council training quality standard for its apprentice programme.
The award recognises the company's scheme as a 'clear leader' in its field in terms of its approach to training solutions, developing key skills and focusing not only on attaining results, but also maximising apprentices' potential
"We are naturally delighted to become one of the first recipients of this award, which clearly recognises our commitment to staff development," says James Armstrong, Scania's aftersales director. "The apprentices coming through our programme today are the Scania master technicians of the future and as such, we are fully aware of our responsibility to ensure they receive the very best training available."
