Cargo Express has added two new Schmitz Cargobull S.CS MEGA curtainsiders to it's fleet - as seen here behind a Scania R series. Supplied by Geoff Ward, regional manager for the North West, Wales and the West Midlands, the new units feature power curtains. The curtains and roof of the trailers are also equipped with Schmitz Cargobull’s anti-vandal system to prevent cargo theft.
Joseph O’Reilly, managing director, said: “Geoff identified that we’d benefit from the Power Curtain and anti-vandal system, which we weren’t aware of coming into the process. He repeatedly went the extra mile, travelling to see us to ensure that the blue we wanted for the trailers was the correct tone, as other suppliers have a different name for it.”
The Birmingham-based hauler operates a fleet of more than 70 trucks and 50 trailers. It's new MEGA units are specified with hydraulically powered, hight-adjustable roofs which provide an internal height up to 3m and comply with EU regulations. Cargo Express works within the UK and internationally so maximum volume in compliant vehicles across the different regions it visits is essential. It's work includes transporting automotive parts, racking and fridge doors.
The MEGA trailers have a Modulos chassis that comes with a 10-year guarantee against rust through. As standard it also comes with Schmitz Cargobull's TrailerConnect telematics.
Cargo Express opted for a livery which marks it's partnership with Markilux, the German awnings manufacturer. For the UK market, Cargo Express brings Markilux products in and breaks them down at it's warehouse near junction 6 of the M6 for onwards transport arrangements for customers.
O’Reilly said: “We’re still running some MEGA trailers we purchased in 2011, so we know from experience that the product is high quality. The trailers are perfect for running to the continent, and the excellent communication throughout the build process really impressed us too. A lot has changed since we last placed an order with Schmitz Cargobull, and we had a lot of questions that were expertly handled.”
