Southbar Transport has taken delivery of two Schmitz Cargobull trailers to transport fragile foodstuffs and beverages between Spain and the UK each week.
The new trailers are fitted with thin and tough Ferroplast panels, come with galvanised and bolted chassis, as well as low-noise floors suitable for early morning or late-night deliveries.
They will be used as part of a 24/7 operation by the Scottish haulier, supported by the trailer manufacturer’s 24-hour service network of 1,200 workshops across Europe.
Southbar Transport, established in 1991, is based in Inchinnan near Glasgow and now has eight Schmitz Cargobull trailers out of a fleet of 25.
Millar Dunlop, MD at Southbar Transport, said: “We transport fragile goods over thousands of miles so it’s essential our trailers are robust enough to prevent any damage to the cargo.”
