SDC Truck & Trailer Parts has launched a franchise programme, in a move it claims will strengthen its OE and aftermarket parts service.

A division of trailer manufacturer SDC, the company currently operates nine branches and stocks over 16,000 commercial vehicle parts lines from the industry’s leading suppliers.

SDC Truck & Trailer Parts director Gavin Diamond, explained that the company had been planning the franchise route to market for the last 18 months. He said it would allow individuals with experience in the commercial vehicle parts industry to form a business partnership with SDC, while gaining access to the industry’s leading brands and volume purchasing.

“We know from our experience in the parts network that the branch is only as good as the people who run it, so it is very much down to the team to use their local knowledge and resource to build a business for themselves and make it work,” said Diamond. “We want to build partnerships so that the franchisees will benefit as the business grows. We see this as an exciting venture for SDC Parts and also the franchisee. Their hard work will be their financial reward as well as the pride of building their own business.”

A limited number of franchise opportunities will be released for 2020 and locations will be dependent on market demand as well as prospective partners. The closing date for applications is 31 May 2020.
