SECH Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first Stepstar Z in the UK. The trailer was delivered by Goldhofer Aktiengesellschaft via its British sales representative Specialist Trailer Hire Ltd (STH).

Matt Cox, hire manager at SECH Crane Hire, said: “It’s exciting to have the first STEPSTAR Z in the UK. I’m looking forward to putting it through its paces and discovering its full capabilities over the coming weeks and months.”

Mark Howe, head of sales at Specialist Trailer Hire Ltd (STH), said: “This is a significant step in our relationship with Goldhofer. We’re proud to be seeing the first forced-steered version of the STEPSTAR on the roads of the UK.”

The Stepstar Z is part of Goldhofer’s Starline series which features a range of self-tracking lightweight low loaders. The trailers are designed for general and heavy haulage operations with payload options up to 70-tonne. Goldhofer began as a forge in 1705 and now manufactures vehicles with payloads from 25- to 15,000-tonne. The much heavier end of the spectrum services airport applications. The company has dealers in America, the UK, India and the UAE. By 2018, Goldhofer has sold more than 40,000 vehicles in operation across 160 countries.

STH is a trailer hire and sales specialist and Goldhofer’s sales partner in the UK. With sites in Rotherham and Leeds, the company has more than 50 years experience in the HGV and trailer business supporting customers with hire, sales, maintenance and refurbishment services.

SECH Crane Hire specialises in crawler and telescopic crawler crane hire. Its core business is supplying crawler cranes to piling, tunnelling, construction and marine industries. The company was founded in 2006 and offers crane hire across the UK. Its hire cranes have capacities ranging from 40- to 160-tonnes. SECH Crane Hire has a modern transport fleet to make sure its customers' cranes get delivered on time and in good condition.
