A Serbian lorry driver has been charged with attempting to smuggle drugs into the UK after £1.2m worth of cocaine was found on his truck.
On the evening of Wednesday 23 September, the UK Border Agency seized 30kg of cocaine at Dover's eastern docks.
The drugs were found in plastic-wrapped packages in the fifth wheel area of 39-year-old Aleksandar Cicic's HGV. He was transporting pallets of wine to the UK from Calais.
Following enquiries by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), Cicic, from Belgrade has been charged. He will appear before Dover Magistrates at a later date.
