Alex Wright, the new MD and owner of Shoreham Vehicle Auctions, is starting to stamp his authority on the job, discovers Laurie Dealer.
He has masterminded a new 'VanTastic' monthly auction (second Tuesday of every month and supported by a second van auction each month) and the first kicked off with 230 vans.
Wright reports that 81% (which is 230, divided by 100, times 81...)... some 186.3 vans went under the hammer. And the man holding the hammer was none other than Alex Wright himself.
He added: "A good auction should be a bit of an experience, and you certainly get that at Shoreham. It's great to be back on the auction floor and witnessing the realisation of Shoreham Vehicle Auctions' next stage of expansion first-hand."
Sounds like things are hitting the ground running, hopefully soon Laurie Dealer, or a member of the Road Transport Group, will travel down to the south coast and get the inside track over a cup of tea.
