Silvey Fleet and BWOC will supply the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel. The racing series is improving its sustainability credentials by using this renewable diesel alternative.

HVO is made from renewable and sustainable feedstocks which can reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared with regular diesel. A key benefit of the fuel is it can be used instead of diesel without having to make engine modifications.

Miriam James, managing director of Silvey Fleet, said: “Partnering with the BTRC is an exciting opportunity for Silvey Fleet, allowing us to demonstrate our commitment to offering customers sustainable solutions, and play our part in shaping the energy transition. It is a prime example of how companies can collaborate and take action to decarbonise and contribute towards a more sustainable future.”

Amy Jones, managing director of BWOC, said:  “We want to help customers decarbonise by offering innovative fuel solutions that can help reduce their CO 2  emissions. Supplying renewable diesel (HVO) to the BTRC will help ensure the organisation meets its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhance the positive impact racing can have on the world.”

Stuart Oliver, promoter and director of BTRC, said: “We are delighted to have Silvey Fleet and BWOC as sustainability partners for our 2024 season. The BTRC is aligned with Truck Sport UK and the British Automobile Racing Club in its commitment to reducing carbon emissions from racing events. Using Renewable Diesel (HVO) at our events will significantly reduce carbon emissions, helping us work towards achieving this goal.”

As well as offering HVO, Silvery Fleet and BWOC offer EV charging and carbon offsetting solutions. Silvey Fleet is a fuel card and fleet management provider that offers HVO fuel across its fuel card networks. BWOC is a fuel supplier that has multiple HVO supply points across the country.
