Can you sum up what Thompsons Group does?
After starting out in East London more than 40 years ago, Thompsons is now a national business with sites in Croydon, Blackburn, Dover, and Edinburgh. We make a full range of steel tipper bodies and other tipper products. We believe we are better in design and better in manufacture, and every model we sell provides great performance, reliability and value for money. We also offer industry-leading standards of aftersales, parts and service support.

What will the company be exhibiting at Tip-ex?
Thompsons Group will be showing two new tipper bodies at Tip-ex - further details will be available closer to the show.

What does the company get out of being at Tip-ex?
We are the UK’s number one tipper bodybuilder; we build and sell more bodies than all our competitors combined and have a size and market share that dictates that it is the right thing for us to attend. If we didn’t  go, it would not give out the right signal. It’s a great platform to show off new products and tell people about our progress.

How much business do you get from being at Tip-ex?
We do take orders from customers at Tip-ex but we are not in the same situation as a start-up company that is going to take lots of new business.

Do you get to meet existing and potential customers?
Yes - typically we will see at least 20 customers a day. It’s an opportunity to catch up with people and get feedback.
