Barnsley-based S&J Transport has added seven new Volvo FH tractor units to its fleet with two more on order and set to arrive later this year.
Six of the new additions are FH500 in white, while the seventh is a FH540 in silver that was commissioned specially for longstanding driver Nigel Tate.
All seven new trucks have been fitted with HARSH wet kits for use on bulk and tipper work where they will pull standard tipping trailers and high-sided moving floor trailers.
“We’re running pretty much flat out now” says Steve Senior, owner S&J Transport, “so it made good sense for us to invest in another batch of new trucks. As before, they are all Volvo FH tractors with HARSH wet kits - the best possible combination for tractor units on bulk and tipper work.”
Senior continued: “I’ve worked with tippers for over 30 years and used virtually every make and combination of hydraulics out there. When we order our new trucks, I just tell our Volvo dealer to send them to HARSH to fit the hydraulics because I know everything will be done efficiently and properly.”
