Smith rejoins JDS to develop all-makes used truck centre

Blackburn-based Renault Trucks dealer JDS has appointed Julian Smith as used vehicle sales director.

Smith first joined JDS in 1991 and had an 11-year spell as group used truck leader at Chatfields. He is tasked with developing and heading an all-makes used truck centre.

The facility will supply 7.5-tonners, tractor units and some specialist LCVs. At JDS, used trucks receive a 96-point quality inspection and the firm can provide finance, paintwork, bodywork modifications, ancillary equipment and delivery options.

Smith said: “After 11 years away from JDS, some have said returning a quarter-of-a-century later was my destiny. As we all know, this is a fast-paced, challenging and ever-changing industry, but key values remain the same - if you can offer customers great service, along with knowledge and understanding of their business and requirements, then in my experience they will be loyal in return”.
