Solway Daf has relocated in Workington to a new £1m dealership

Solway Daf will officially open the doors to its £1m dealership in Workington.

The new dealership is situated on the A595 on the edge of the town at Lillyhall, four miles from the former site on Clay Flatts Industrial Estate in the centre of Workington.

Depot manager Colin Hadley said the new premises will include a brake roller tester, steam clean facilities and computerised service history recording.

An expanded parts facility will house Paccar parts and parts from all the makes that come under the TRP banner.

“The new depot has a strategic location that is central for all main industrial areas in West Cumbria,” said Hadley.

Solway Daf originally opened a site in Workington in 2000 and also has dealerships in Carlisle, Dumfries and Penrith.

The group was originally formed as Titterington Commercials in 1973 by Fred Titterington. It became Titterington Daf Trucks in 1978 when it took on the franchise.

In 1980 Ron Fullelove took over the company and renamed it Solway Daf. In 1986 his son Peter, now MD, became the main shareholder.
