Dennis Eagle has been bought by Spanish municipal vehicle manufacturer Ros Roca, ending speculation that MAN would buy it. According to leading Spanish newspaper El País the company was purchased for €150m, but neither company is prepared to confirm this figure.

Dennis Eagle's directors have taken an undisclosed financial stake in the new combined business, which Dennis Eagle chief executive Mike Molesworth describes as "the number one player in Europe in relation to refuse collection vehicles".

Molesworth tells Motor Transport that the acquisition is good news for the UK. He says Ros Roca, which does not have its own low-entry cab, will be looking to use the Elite chassis cab - boosting UK production.

"It has long been our stated intention to develop Dennis Eagle into a truly leading international concern and this latest development will help accelerate this process", he says.
