In early 2025, Sparks Commercial Services will open a new head office, LCV sales and EV education centre in Southampton. A multi-million pound refurbishment is expected to grow the company’s presence in the south as well as creating 25 new jobs.
The site is positioned on the Redbridge Causeway at the end of the M271 motorway in Southampton. Once the facility is open, it will be the company’s headquarters and central hub for new and used LCV sales. A new workshop will also be opened for LCVs with a truck workshop less than a mile away. The Southampton site will offer Renault Trucks vehicles from 2.8-tonne to 44-tonne.
Sparks Commercial Services co-founders and directors Michael and Julie Spark said: "This new centre represents a significant step forward for Sparks Commercials. Not only does it strengthen our presence in the south, but it also demonstrates our commitment to advancing sustainable transport and investing in the communities we serve. We are thrilled to see this vision come to life and look forward to welcoming and delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to both new and existing customers."
The location will feature secure parking, multiple workshop bays, an MOT lane for class 4, 5, and 7 vehicles, computerised brake roller testing and diagnostic facilities for all makes and models. Sparks Commercial Services will support customers with repair and maintenance contracts for new and existing vehicles. The refurbished site will also house a parts counter for sales and workshop support as an approved dealer for genuine Renault parts.
Alongside familiar services, the EV education centre will be used to support operators in their transition to electric. Features include interactive displays, workshops, and personalised consultations to inform on the benefits and best practices for EVs.
Derek Leech, service market and retail development director at Renault Trucks UK, said: "We are excited to see Sparks Commercial Services take this significant step in expanding their operations and the Renault Trucks offering. The new LCV sales and EV education centre in Southampton aligns perfectly with our vision for a sustainable future in transportation. This investment not only supports the growing demand for electric and LCV vehicles, but also reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences and advancing the adoption of innovative transport solutions."
