Renault Trucks dealer Sparks Commercial Services has opened a used truck sales operation at its Swindon site.
The £1m Sparks Used Truck Centre will sell vehicles of between 2.8 tonnes and 44 tonnes, with 10 to 15 in stock at any one time. Sparks will also retail a smaller selection of used trucks at its Portsmouth branch.
Each vehicle is graded using a three-tier system and subject to a 96-point checklist and comes with a minimum six-month driveline warranty. Sparks has recruited used trucks specialist Lee Murrell to develop and run the operation.
Director Julie Spark said: “This investment and development in our Swindon dealership allows us to widen the choice of products and services on offer to both existing and new customers. “Lee has been involved in retailing used vehicles for more than 17 years and has experience in finding and delivering the ideal used vehicle for operators.
“Sparks has expanded rapidly in the last few years, mainly due to our successful business partnership with Renault Trucks UK and we are proud to unveil our new venture into the used truck market.” The company also plans to launch a new ATF lane at the Swindon site in 2018 and introduce 24-hour opening.
