Leeds-based Stagefreight has taken delivery of its first Renault trucks, adding three Range T480 4x2 High Cabs to its 30-strong HGV fleet. The trucks, from JDS Trucks & Vans, will transport stage, sound and lights to live music events and theatre tours across the UK and abroad.
Director Ian Uttley said: “We have to think carefully about our drivers, who can be out on the road for up to 16 weeks on a tour, and they need the extra space. More room to move around helps them to have a more comfortable life on the road.”
Cab interiors feature two bunks including what Renault described as the ultimate upper bunk, which transforms into storage with access ladder and luggage net. They also have a 40-litre fridge.
Uttley added: “It’s our first time doing business with JDS Trucks & Vans and, as well as a fantastic vehicle for a competitive deal, the five year bumper-to-bumper R&M package was the icing on the cake.”
