Transport minister Stephen Hammond MP has taken back responsibility for freight and logistics from Robert Goodwill MP, following a reshuffle.

A Department for Transport spokesman confirmed that the changes occurred in December, just two months after Goodwill replaced Hammond as roads minister.

Goodwill will continue to oversee the Highways Agency, road safety, traffic, cycling and local roads, as well as HS2 and aviation, while Hammond will remain responsible for rail, motoring agencies, London, international vehicle standards and maritime.

Hammond has held is current role as Parliamentary Under Secretary for Transport since September 2012.
